Gulet Cruises Marmaris
The quayside is lined by colorful and unique Turkish gullets between the months of April to the end of October – and some until the end of November. Marmaris is then a gulet heaven for all to see. Travelers meet their special yachts at various times of the day, all excited to go on board for the start of their Marmaris gulet cruises holidays. What better place to start than from the lively little city of Marmaris.
Gulet holidays, normally start and end on Saturdays. There are occasionally exceptions made, depending on the schedule of the gulet and the time of year. However boarding the gulet is usually set for 3:00 pm and disembarking on the last day of the gulet holiday is after 10:30 am when guests have finished packing and had their last breakfast on board, in the harbor. Then guests either wait for their time to transfer to the Dalaman airport while having a look at the city sights or leave directly for the airport to catch their flight back home.
Marmaris is an exciting city. From here, there are many different itineraries available for travelers to choose from. Alternatively, custom itineraries can also be planned and organized to suit the preferences of the guests as well. But travelers generally choose what has already been planned and then embark on their blue cruise journey for a wonderful time at sea.
While the immediate region offers a fantastic array of destinations, namely the villages of Marmaris; other destinations such as the nearby Greek Islands can either be combined with yacht charter destinations in Turkey or travelers can embark from Marmaris to only visit the islands of Greece. The most popular among the islands are located within the Dodecanese and the Cyclades. Here, in this region islands such as Rhodes, Symi, Kos, Halki, Santorini, and Mikonos are the most favored. But of course, all the other little islands can also be seen during a Marmaris blue cruise holiday – this is the beauty of embarking from Marmaris and visiting the Greek Islands. There are more choices in routes when deciding to begin a gulet cruise holiday from the Marmaris harbor.
Should there be time to spend in the harbor, prior to your blue cruise Marmaris holiday, there are lovely places to visit – and all within walking distance. For instance, the gulets at most times do not embark on the first day – the day of arrival to the boat. This means that there is an overnight stay. Having this opportunity will allow time to see the Marmaris castle. The castle is open to the public during the season. The views are beautiful where you can take panoramic photos of the harbor and bay.

The shops, restaurants, bars, cafes, nightclubs are all within a few minutes walking distance since they are parallel with the harbor itself. Also, a nice stroll along the promenade is quite a superb experience. The promenade actually stretches all the way to the next town and resort of Icmeler – another great place to see.
One the most recent attractions, built in May of 2012, is the must-see Marmaris Musical Fountain Square. During the Spring and Summer months, shortly after sunset, there is a display of water fountain magic. Hundreds of passersby gather around this beautiful centerpiece to enjoy 30 minutes of pure colorful beauty as the water from the fountain dances to the melodies that are played.
So really, a Marmaris yacht holiday can start off to be quite the experience, even before you embark the following morning on your week-long journey in the Aegean, Mediterranean or both!
