Croatia Gulet Charter

Croatia is one of the fastest growing luxury gulet charter regions in the world, after Turkey – the origin of gulets. Just about all Croatia gulet charter trips remain in Croatia territorial waters and almost never go out of their own sailing region to countries such as Italy, Montenegro, or Albania.

There are two main ports for embarkation and disembarkation, namely Split and Dubrovnik.  In Split, there are 3 ports: Strobec, Sumpetar, and main port along the Riva.  In Dubrovnik, the ports are usually Zaton or Slano.  Sometimes the start or end port can also be Zadar, Trogir (near Split and closer to the Split airport), Omis, and Sibenik.  This depends on the boat, where it is based, or its booking schedule during the season.

Northern shore has the most popular stops of all. Starting from West to East Spain, France, Italy, Croatia, Montenegro, Greece and Turkey. Those destinations have very well-deserved reputation with their historical heritage and natural beauties. There are 5 main itineraries for Croatia gulet charter.  Again, this can be flexible and change according to client’s requests, the weather conditions, time of year, and the boat’s booking plan.  A one-way route is the most popular itinerary which either Split to Dubrovnik or vice versa.  Then there are 2 Split – Split itineraries. One is in the North Adriatic and the other in the South Adriatic. The later is the most often preferred.  Lastly, there is the Dubrovnik – Dubrovnik route which generally includes the South Adriatic islands and coastline.

The best time to book your Croatia gulet charter is at least one year in advance.  While there are over 500 gulet charters in Turkey to choose from; in Croatia, there are about 50 from which around 35 gulets are heavily booked in a season.  The most selection is in the 4 and 5 cabin gulets. Then there are a couple of 3 cabin, many 6 cabin, and again a few 7 and 8 cabin gulets.

The gulets are mainly imported from Turkey. Once bought, the new owners change the flag and registration to Croatia.
