Private Boat Holidays in Turkey and Timeless Destination Choices. Traveling can be an adventure. From various land excursions, such as hiking and biking; to extreme activities such as paragliding off of a 1900-meter cliff, you can always select to put on your list of holidays to do. But if you are the type of traveler seeking a bit more R & R in your get-a-way with personalized services that are aimed at pampering you all through the day – without paying the big bucks, then choosing private boat holidays in Turkey might just be the way to go. Of course, that is not to say that you can’t take pleasure in these activities during your blue cruise holidays; you certainly can.

Turkey offers a tropical coastline that runs along the Mediterranean and stretches as far as the Aegean Sea. If you have never been to Turkey, it might be a bit difficult, or possibly confusing, to decide from where to embark on your boat charter vacation. However, without doubt, whichever part of Southern Turkey it is that you are keen to enjoy, rest assure that you will be a part of some of the most beautiful and timeless destination choices to be seen.

When embarking on a charter boat holiday, the major ports that you can decide on to begin your blue cruise holidays are Fethiye or Gocek in the Mediterranean; and Marmaris or Bodrum on the Aegean side.

Should Fethiye be the right start for you, the top must-see would be to visit Oludeniz (Dead Sea) blue lagoon. Oludeniz is possibly one of the most photographed beaches in the Mediterranean. There you can also log in some excellent paragliding as well. Your Fethiye gulet cruise offers you the choice to go as east along the Mediterranean to the town of Kekova where you can visit the ancient underwater city of Simena.

When you choose the charming port of Gocek, you can visit Oludeniz, but alternatively a must-see in this region are the ancient rock tombs of Caunos in the town of Dalyan. To get there, you take a splendid boat trip, once your gulet arrives in the bay, (after disembarking from your gulet), through the tall reeds – once traveled by Humphrey Bogart in the movie African Queen, you then finally see in the distance, these magnificent and timeless carvings in the rocks from the Lycian period. Oh yes, and while you are there, you might like to go for a dip in the Dalyan mud baths for a bit of skin rejuvenation. 🙂

Embarking from the exciting harbor city of Marmaris, opens way to all sorts of itinerary choices. From the traditional, untouched villages nearby in the Gulf of Hisaronu, to the Gulf of Gokova, all the way south to the Dodecanese and Cyclades Island in Greece. To suggest must-sees is hard as there are so many of them. However, a tour around the city center is a good suggestion – exploring the shops, promenade, restaurants and cafes can be a delightful experience. Should you stay long enough, a must-see in Marmaris is the incredible Musical Fountain Square that was built in 2012.

Bodrum is the city of lights, nightlife at its best, an exciting place to be. So much goes on in Bodrum all throughout the year. The harbor offers beautiful views of the bay where you can also see the traditional fishermen all lined up, selling their catch of the day – while the cats all plump and well fed, line up for their part. Bodrum is also a great place to start Turkish gulet cruises.

Embarking on a yacht charter in Bodrum can lead you to set course to an array of amazing destinations along the Aegean and over to the hundreds of choice Greek Islands, cruising as far as the city of the Greek Gods, Athens.
