August Meltemi, Boat Traffic and Yacht Holidays in Turkey

During the month of August in the Aegean and Mediterranean sea regions of Turkey, there are differences in both the waters and the both traffic. While in the Aegean there will begin the Meltemi winds creating a bit of roughness in the waters – making waves.

The Mediterranean side will present much higher volume of boat traffic – it will be heavier but the waters are calmer. So when you are contemplating which region to explore the beautiful shores and waters of Turkey, you might like to take these points into consideration.

The start of a very exciting and pleasurable yacht charter Turkey holiday depends on what destinations peak your interest.  Activities and excursions can be arranged either on the Aegean or the Mediterranean regions since water sports and sightseeing is available in both areas.

Should you prefer calm and clean waters with fewer boat traffic, you will be able to find this in the Marmaris region due to location of villages and fewer major ports.
